We will be serving a savingnon blanc that my sister-in-law Rebekah crafted HER OWN SELF!! at Buccella. From Rebekah:
2010 Buccella Sauvignon Blanc
I made this wine in a bright, fruity style and thought it would be a good match for a light menu and a summer’s evening. The wine was fermented at a cool temperature in stainless steel in order to retain those fresh, delicate aromas. I did stir the lees on a regular basis to add richness to the mouthfeel. On the nose the wine shows kiwi fruit, grapefruit, honeycomb and ripe apricots. In the mouth there’s a nice crisp acidity and citrus/tropical flavors (think guava or honeydew melon). Here are the grapes right before pressing...
Rebekah was assistant @ Spy Valley in '09 and the pinot noir is also one of hers... Here is a photo of her forklifting the precious grapes. (Emailed this pic to my dad on his birthday - very cute)
Cheers to Rebekah!
For indulging all our wine questions over the years and for all the amazing wines we have enjoyed!
You rock.
